Terms of Business

We require a deposit of the total amount of the estimated disbursements. Disbursements are payments made by us on our clients behalf to third parties including crematorium and cemetery fees for example.


This deposit must be paid to us within 48 hours of the funeral arrangements, and the balance must be paid to us within 30 days of the date of the final account.


We do not charge interest.


We do not charge for late payment of sums when there is an agreement to pay by instalments within a 12 month period. If there is no agreement to pay by instalments we reserve the right to pass an outstanding account to a third party debt collection agency with associated costs.

The ultimate owner of our buisness is Gregory and Patricia Dabrowski (Directors) of Edwin Ainsworth Ltd registration no. 254883 in Darwen at Church Bank Street, BB3 3HA.

Edwin Ainsworth Ltd directly or indirectly, made and will make, no charitable donations, gratuities or payments to a third party.

Our Charges

Funeral Directors’ fees for our professional attention throughout all necessary arrangements, including provision of a coffin for either burial or cremation with a suitabe gown or lining, conveyance of the deceased from a local address or hospital to the Chapel of Rest, preparation and care of the deceased for viewing in the Chapel of Rest, provision of a hearse and bearers attending the funeral to a local cemetery or crematorium


Our charges as described above, but including provision of a hearse and one following limousine,

Disbursements are fees paid by the Funeral Director on the Client’s behalf

Cremation fees: (Pleasington)


Doctors’ fees for cremation certificates. Usually 2 doctors to certify death (not payable if coroner orders a post mortem)

For Burial: Purchase of a new grave space (Darwen or Pleasington)


Church Fees: For a service in a Church and the committal service at the Crematorium or Cemetery

£199.00 – £450.00

Clergy Fee: For a service in the Crematorium Chapel


Organist Fee: Organist’s fee at the Crematorium Chapel

£50.00 – £100.00

Newspaper Announcements: The cost of newspaper announcements are dependent on the number of lines and length

£125.00 – £200.00

Flowers, catering, orders of service, webcasting, ashes casket/containers and monumental work are other items you may need to consider.


Direct Cremation: Local removal of the deceased, administration, a simple coffin, transportation to a crematorium of our choice on a day and time of our choosing, all necessary staff, cremation fees and the medical cremation certificate fees if applicable. There will be no service and no attendance by family or friends



Grave Purchase: The buying of a new grave including the right to erect a memorial
